Technology Overview
Spirulina is a type of blue-green microalgae. With up to 70% protein content and low environmental impacts associated with the production, spirulina is regarded as a sustainable protein source. In addition, it is rich in micro and macro nutrients in high quantities and has been consumed by humans and animals due to its potential health benefits.
While spirulina has long gained popularity as a dietary supplement, its usage as an ingredient in vegan food items is not widespread. By employing encapsulation technology and knowledge in food science, spirulina is transformed into beads, resembling caviar. Known as SuperSeeds or Veggie Caviar, this innovative product offers a healthier and more eco-friendly option for vegan consumers to add protein into their diets.
Key Features & Benefits
SuperSeeds are made from spirulina. The product provides a great source of protein and is rich in essential amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine, methionine and tryptophan, as well as antioxidants and omega 3-6-9.
With crunchy texture, SuperSeeds are a versatile ingredient that can be used to garnish or add to a wide range of recipes, including salad dressing, sandwich spread, and Korean rice dish bibimbap.
